I didn't start in Figma. I started with a pencil and blank paper.

Growing up, I drew constantly. Goku in the back of my notebook. SpongeBob on whatever page had space. Tom and Jerry on anything that would hold a line. I made up my own characters too, not just copies. Wood, pencil, iPad, whatever gave me a surface, I used it.

In 2022, I found product design and realized I hadn't changed careers so much as changed canvas. The same obsession with color, composition, and how something feels just found a new home. Drawing became designing. The obsession stayed the same.

Now I design for B2B SaaS, fintech, and AI companies, the kind of products where one confusing screen is expensive, not just annoying.

Understand the problem

Before anything opens in Figma, I need to know what’s actually broken. I talk to stakeholders, dig into user behavior, and figure out what success looks like before I start solving.

Explore and decide

I explore multiple directions early, get feedback fast, and cut what isn’t working. I’d rather kill a bad idea in a sketch than after two weeks of high fidelity design.

Most design problems are symptoms. I dig for the root, then write a clear problem statement that keeps the work focused.

Accelerate with AI

I use AI throughout the process, not just at the end. Claude helps me think through decisions and stress test logic before I commit. Claude Code and Cursor let me build working prototypes in real code when a static mockup isn’t enough. The goal isn’t to automate the thinking, it’s to spend more time on the decisions that actually matter.
